DISNEYLAND STAR WARS
JD2 Inc. was brought on board to handle the steel package on the Star Wars Rise of the Resistance along with much of the show steel and spaceships. We spent two and half years on the project with more than 150,000 man hours. Even with ongoing design changes and aggressive schedules we were able to meet every scheduled milestone…The force was with us!!!
JUSTI CREEK PAVILION
JD2 was contacted by Soule Building Systems who specializes in traditional metal building design, not something we typically get involved with, but they had a unique project for John Lasseter (Founder of Pixar Studios). The building was a complex array of curved trusses that would eventually serve as an event center and potential auto museum. Our challenge was to detail, procure unique material (L8x4x1 only available in Kentucky), fabricate and deliver to jobsite as quickly as possible. Due to the complex rolling requirements we initially anticipated a 16 week schedule for fabrication but we were able reduce it to 8 weeks with erection completed months ahead of schedule.
